International Day to End Violence
Against Sex Workers
December 17th

December 17th is International Day to End Violence Against Sex Workers. This event was created to call attention to hate crimes committed against sex workers all over the globe. Originally thought of by Dr. Annie Sprinkle and started by the Sex Workers Outreach Project USA as a memorial and vigil for the victims of the Green River Killer in Seattle Washington.

SW4C joined us and held a Daytime Memorial Presentation in the Detroit, MI & Evening Memorial Vigil in Toledo, OH.

Come out and show your support, or send donations of the following goods to either
Alternatives for Girls (Detroit) or Second Chance (Toledo):

Tampons
Maxi pads
Single use bar soap/lotion/shampoo/conditioner (hotel size)
Toothbrushes
Toothpaste
Condoms
Chapstick
Alcohol swabs
Band-aids
Monistat (preferred) or Vagisil
Snack cakes (Little Debbie)*
Bottle water, juice mix*

*With snack cakes and juice, it is best to avoid some of the healthier snack bars or apple juice that usually contains more fiber as this is not the best switch to a girl on the street that is only used to sugary foods.

Funding for both of these programs relies mostly on private donations,
so monetary donations are also accepted and appreciated.
